Growing up in Minnesota, hard work and dedication were baked into Leil Koch by family and friends who mainly worked in the Gopher State's Fortune 500 corridor. His father, David A. Koch, the former CEO of Graco (an American manufacturer of fluid-handling systems and products), taught him the value of giving back to his community, how to run a successful business, and how to be a leader.
At the same time, Leil spent his summers bailing hay, fencing, and herding black Angus cattle, where he learned what long, hard-working days were, the value of a good plot of land, and the importance of taking care of it, and, as the Code states, "it’s wise utilization and widely allocated ownership."
